The Junkies

The Junkies are back on Viva la Electronica. After  three years we are happy to have The Junkies back on air.
The Junkies style has continued to evolve over the years under the influence of various genres of electronic music, ranging from deep soulful house to techno and everything in between. Drawing from these has resulted in a sound of their own both in the studio and in their DJ sets. It’s this sound that has made them a consistently present force in the Toronto club scene for over 10 years. Holding a residency at the legendary Guvernment Nightclub as well as Footwork Bar keeps them educating the electronic faithful on a weekly basis in the undisputed capital of electronic music in Canada. This has given The Junkies an excellent platform to showcase their music, as well as playing alongside some of the world’s most respected artists on a regular basis including the likes of Dubfire, Marco Carola, Paco Osuna and Loco Dice just to name a few.

The Junkies are working on their own label imprint Local Music which will feature music from like minded artists as well as another avenue to showcase their own creativity as artists. Regular appearances on labels such as Rawthentic, Sci-Tec, Mindshake and Monique and have kept the duo busy with many more exciting projects to come.

The Dolphins

2007 has been a year of further growth : on one side The Dolphins has continued the activity for Ocean Dark, releasing the new e.p. called “minibox”, on the other they have created a new liaison with Mantravibes, Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records (for which they have just remixed the hits "My MTV" by Noir and “Roadkill” by Dubfire ) ,Proton Music (Us), Noir Music (Dk) and Southern Fried( UK - FatBoy Slim’s label). Beyond this, developing the relation with Pump-Kin and growing the alias Audio Vegas, the trio has attempted a series of Pump-Kin Night around the world and they have produced two more ep: Drama and Morphine So 2008 looks set to be a natural progression for The Dolphins and a year that is surely destined to bring them even greater success... It started with two great tracks, “Chemical Youth” and the hit “Haze Hard” on SCI+TEC Digital Audio [US_Dubfire's label], that brought the crew at the top of the charts. After this they have worked like remixer for Suara [ES] Lot 49 [UK], Old Sail and Evolution recordings [I]. With the new single “When I’m Wrong” on Sci+Tec they continue the activity for Dubfire and also start to work with Italo Business records [I] with the debut release “From Hell”.

Mihalis Safras

Mixmag said: ''The name of Mihalis Safras became practically synonymous with contemporary tech-dance music.''

The calibre of Mihalis’s studio output uniquely fall’s in‐between these two and since his early studio outputs, his elongated, aching yet versatile and percussive tech-house tracks have made their way onto the celebrated labels of Great Stuff, Soma, Trapez, Saved, Snatch and offcourse Material. While having remixed a variety of well known artists like: Dubfire, Mark Broom, Gregor Tresher, Mihalis has exercised room‐filling soundscapes determined and driving techno combined with the most moving of musical melodies.
