ALEX FLATNER
The personal data sheet of Alex Flatner is a buzz of famous projects, collaborations, labels and worldwide venues, while he mostly remains the silent gentleman behind the scenes. Meeting him without knowing his remarkable stages of success would rather draw a picture of a congenial guy who has seen quite a lot of places worldwide and is convinced about himself, but he rarely points out what he reached so far. To meet Alex is like seeing a long time friend, and one would be quite surprised that he runs several prosperous labels and works as A&R manager, producer and DJ all over the globe.
Flatner's mode of pure understatement factors out several facts which have to be mentioned when talking about a matchless track record in music business: Besides being A&R manager for labels like Harthouse, Plastic City and some more quality essentials, and running his own imprints Gedankensport and Circle Music, he has a broad ranged output taking course parallel to his full time multitasking business and his travels throughout the countries every weekend. He released a fabulous mix CD ("World Of Circle"), linked with touring through France, India, Spain, Croatia, Germany, Poland and Russia.
Alex made a great effort signing artists such as Sebastien Leger, Robert Babicz Valentino Kanzyani, Joey Beltram, Umek, Leandro Gamez, Bryan Zentz and Gui Boratto for his Circle Music imprint.
Being "stage director" and producer, he has recently remixed Gui Boratto's "Atol", Terry Lee Brown Junior's "Pulsar" or Steve Lawler's "Almerina", Märtini Brös' "High On Heels", Alejandro Vivanco's "Vita Jo", and cooperates with people from the likes of Lopazz, Anderson Noise, Joey Beltram, Ken Ishii, Santos, Einzelkind, Simon Baker and Reboot. His tracks appeared on Sven Väth's "The Sound of the Ninth Season" (Cocoon) or Loco Dice's compilation "In The Lab" and reached the Beatport Top 20.
His current projects are the next release with Lopazz on Cocoon Recordings ("MakeUpYourMind" Remixes) with Jesper Dahlbäck, Steve Lawler, Dave Ellesmere, Sebbo and his next Solo Release on Circle Music including Remixes by Deepgroove and Warren Fellow, his next release on Pokerflat Recordings , his 2nd one, (Steve Bug's label) with Lopazz “This” , an Upcoming E.P. with Martin Eyerer and a E.P. with Hermanez on Result Recordings called “Blossom”!
LOPAZZ
Since 1994 Stef An, also known as LOPAZZ, has been part of the Heidelberg based HD800 team; he also runs the multimedia label 800achtspur, and is renowned as a film composer and Mix-Mastering-Engineer, having written, produced and engineered many internationally acclaimed records and films. In 2001, he had success with Redagain P when they remixed the Miami Vice & Magnum themes; then, in 2003, Lopazz's self-titled EP was released by Output Recordings, followed by the singles 'Blood' (including a Tiefschwarz remix) and his first bona fide club hit ‘I Need Ya’ (later re-licensed by French fashion label Colette). Its success led to Lopazz remixing Germany's biggest pop act Xavier Nadoo, while techno legend Sven Väth snapped up ‘I Need Ya’ for his Sound of the Fourth Season mix CD. Stefan's relationship with Berlin-based Get Physical Music began when he was commissioned to remix Chelonis R. Jones' 'I Don't Know'. The label went on to issue Lopazz's own vocal track ‘Migracion’, which was subsequently remixed by Chilean producers Luciano and Ricardo Vilallobos. Releases for Pokerflat, Cocoon and Compost Black Label followed, along with remixes and productions for the likes of Isolée, M.A.N.D.Y., Matthew Dear and Imagination. In 2011 he produced the DJ T. album "The pleasure principle" with Thomas at LOPAZZ´ studios in Heidelberg, currently he is working with Sizarr and a new album as BAD COP BAD COP will be released end of 2011.
