Upon.You Label Night

Summer's just about over, and although Berliners are lamenting that it barely even began, we can be consoled with another Upon.You label night at the world-renowned Watergate on Friday, September 7. Our ever dependable Marco Resmann will take over the club's main floor. You probably already know that this guy has co-run Upon.You Records from the start and was also part of Watergate's tenth anniversary celebrations in August, so we can trust his instincts on whom to invite this time around, as well as his own offerings from behind the DJ booth.

Headlining the night is Joris Voorn, one of Rotterdam's top DJs who co-runs the label Rejected and has been a big supporter of our releases over the years. After a busy summer with dates in Ibiza (playing back-to-back with BBC1's Pete Tong), London, Mexico and the USA – as well as a mix CD for Cocoon/Amnesia – Joris returns to Berlin to bring us his smooth blend of melody-driven house and techno. Joining on the main floor is Bulgian producer extraordinaire KiNK, known for his stellar releases on the likes of Rush Hour Recordings and liebe*detail, performing a live set.

Below on the water floor, overlooking the river Spree, our longtime affiliates The Cheapers (hot on the heels of their new Amazeballs EP for Upon.You) and Gunnar Stiller (with a new EP for Clap Your Hands in store) will keep things rocking. Rounding out the lineup will be Upon.You fresh blood Sierra Sam and Magit Cocoon – both contributing new material to our upcoming five-year compilation – spilling their souls into the machines for your body-moving pleasure. This will be our last label night in Berlin until we embark on our fifth anniversary tour at the end of the month, so we hope you will join us on the dancefloor!

Berlin, Schlesisches Tor. Galleries, bars, and restaurants line the streets. Nowhere else in Kreuzberg is as lively and creative as it is here. During the nineties, new cultural movements were primarily launched in Berlin-Mitte. But since the turn of the millennium, much of this has shifted toward Kreuzberg. And one club which has contributed to Berlin’s recent cultural shift from the very beginni...ng is Watergate. Since 2002 Watergate has been an international mecca for all electronic music lovers. The club is a symbol of the appeal and attraction that Berlin’s club culture developed during the first decade of the new millennium. Located directly on the River Spree, with a view of the extra-large logo of Universal Music’s headquarters situated across the river, visitors can experience the newest and hottest tracks in a wide spectrum of electronic music that ranges from house to techno. Week in and week out, guests can party to the best the scene has to offer – long into the night, and often long into the next day as well.The main floor, with its now famous LED ceiling, represents the club’s center, and here the focus is one thing, and one thing alone – partying. The room is dominated by the large, open dance floor with one of the best sound systems in the entire city.
