Im kirchlichen Kontext bezeichnet die Vakanz unbesetzte, ausgeschriebene Pfarrstellen. Analog dazu konzentrieren wir uns heute auf das Leere, auf das Vakuum, auf das Nichts. Man möchte fast sagen auf das Dumme, wobei wir natürlich nicht die hochheiligen Würdenträger des kognitiven Mangels bezichtigen wollen. Vielmehr sprechen wir von der Dumb Unit, die 2000 Jahre nach Jesus' Geburt von Jeremy P. Caulfield in Toronto gegründet wurde und heute ihren Sitz in Berlin hat. Weniger dumm als präzise wie ein Uhrwerk hauen die beiden Italiener Francesco und Federico aka "Clockwork" voll auf die Zwölf. Der Startschuss auf Dumb Unit gelang ihnen dieses Jahr mit Avantism: "Archetypes EP" ist bezeichnenderweise ein Vorbild für kosmisch-deepe House-Erzählungen. Viel zu erzählen hat jedenfalls Walker Barnard, der so gut wie jede der musikalischen Sozialisationen, von denen man immer wieder in Biographien liest, durchgemacht hat. Auf seiner weiten Reise von amerikanischen Funk-Bands über New Yorker Hip-Hop Exkursionen und dem ersten eigenen Studio in Santa Fe, zog es Barnard 2008 nach Berlin. Wir freuen uns auf seine Reiseberichte in Form eines Livesets. Dumb Unit Chef, Neuro-Minimal Messias und Sound-Ästhet Jeremy P. Caulfield richtet mit DeWalta unser Augenmerk auf die schier unendliche Leere zwischen Kicks und Clicks. Serialism-Gründer Cesare vs. Disorder sorgt trotz 4/4 Rahmung für ein Chaos in unseren Köpfen, dem wir uns bereitwillig ergeben. Zu guter Letzt spendet die Circus Company ein großes Zelt und damit eine Bühne für ganz besondere Gäste: Guillaume Coutu Dumont & The Side Effect spielen eine Liveshow mit Band. Das dürfte jegliche Leere ausfüllen

Berlin, Schlesisches Tor. Galleries, bars, and restaurants line the streets. Nowhere else in Kreuzberg is as lively and creative as it is here. During the nineties, new cultural movements were primarily launched in Berlin-Mitte. But since the turn of the millennium, much of this has shifted toward Kreuzberg. And one club which has contributed to Berlin’s recent cultural shift from the very beginni...ng is Watergate. Since 2002 Watergate has been an international mecca for all electronic music lovers. The club is a symbol of the appeal and attraction that Berlin’s club culture developed during the first decade of the new millennium. Located directly on the River Spree, with a view of the extra-large logo of Universal Music’s headquarters situated across the river, visitors can experience the newest and hottest tracks in a wide spectrum of electronic music that ranges from house to techno. Week in and week out, guests can party to the best the scene has to offer – long into the night, and often long into the next day as well.The main floor, with its now famous LED ceiling, represents the club’s center, and here the focus is one thing, and one thing alone – partying. The room is dominated by the large, open dance floor with one of the best sound systems in the entire city.
